Essay Competition by Nandi Voice for the Deprived

Introduction:

Nandini Voice for the Deprived, a Chennai based Non-Governmental Organization, will conduct an essay competition for college students in the State in connection with Gandhi Jayanti celebrations on October 2.

The topic of the essay is `Social implications of the fast spreading liquor consumption in Tamil Nadu.
The essay, not exceeding 2000 words, can be written either in Tamil or in English. Five best entries will be selected for a cash prize and the prizewinners will be invited to present their essay in a meeting to be held on October 2 in Chennai.

Last Date for Submission: 30 August , 2010

Evergreen State Fair Essay Contest

Introduction:

Tackle the issues affecting our environment through an essay contest sponsored by the Snohomish County Executive and Allied Waste Services for a chance to win $200 and an honorary title. The Evergreen State Fair hopes to inspire young people who have a passion for green living to share their ideas and opinions about sustainability.

First, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be recognized, along with their families, as guests of Executive Aaron Reardon at the Opening Ceremony of the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe on August 26.

Eligibility:

Contest open to students entering grades 7-12.

The Oaxaca International Literature Competition 2010

Introduction:

The competition is dedicated to providing a forum for the writer to display their talents. For the relationship between cinema and literature has always been closely intertwined. It has proved on the whole a successful symbiosis, a relationship that remains to this day as inextricable as it is fruitful.

Contest Guidelines:

  • This year the submissions are limited to only 1000!
  • There are no limits on genre, subject matter, or origin of the writer.
  • All stories must be either in English or Spanish
  • The Oaxaca International Literature Competition is seeking short stories only.
