Evergreen State Fair Essay Contest

Introduction:

Tackle the issues affecting our environment through an essay contest sponsored by the Snohomish County Executive and Allied Waste Services for a chance to win $200 and an honorary title. The Evergreen State Fair hopes to inspire young people who have a passion for green living to share their ideas and opinions about sustainability.

First, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be recognized, along with their families, as guests of Executive Aaron Reardon at the Opening Ceremony of the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe on August 26.

Eligibility:

Contest open to students entering grades 7-12.

International Literature Competition in Oaxaca

Introduction:


The city of Oaxaca for centuries the cultural epicenter of America is pleased to present the Oaxaca International Independent Film and Video.In this film event unprecedented in Mexico, will be presented multiple film genres and subjects.The Festival is a universe of encounters, exhibitions, presentations and screenings of independent films.

It will also host the International Literature Competition in Oaxaca and will take place between 8 and November 11, 2010.Independent filmmakers from every continent will be participating and competing for nearly $ 80,000 USD in prizes. The winner of the prestigious “AGAVE” will be a prize of $ 10,000 USD in cash, travel to and from the Festival from its place of origin, special screening of his film at the event and a press release about it and projection privately for 25 executives of the most prestigious film distribution.

Requirements:


Each participant in the Festival Film International Independent Film and Video is eligible for a private screening for all or some of the 25 prestigious executives participate in the event, their request.

The Oaxaca International Literature Competition 2010

Introduction:

The competition is dedicated to providing a forum for the writer to display their talents. For the relationship between cinema and literature has always been closely intertwined. It has proved on the whole a successful symbiosis, a relationship that remains to this day as inextricable as it is fruitful.

Contest Guidelines:

  • This year the submissions are limited to only 1000!
  • There are no limits on genre, subject matter, or origin of the writer.
  • All stories must be either in English or Spanish
  • The Oaxaca International Literature Competition is seeking short stories only.
